Our mandate at The Chris Dawson Foundation, is to participate in educational opportunities, such as scholarships and sponsorships. Our goal is to create a scholarship at Lambton College, where Chris Dawson attended, for students who have shown exemplary community spirit by volunteering their time and are continuing their education. Sponsorships will be geared for children/youth who would like to participate in an extracurricular activity, but do not have the financial backing to do so (eg. mission trip, or sport).
The Chris Dawson Foundation will assist charitable not-for-profit organizations, and thus the clients they serve by providing them with resources to better effectively accomplish their goals. We will accomplish this through The Chris Dawson Centre, which is a 17,353 sq ft building in Sarnia, ON that offers not-for-profit organizations an economical office space and consolidated resources.
Built in the hometown of the late Christopher Dawson, The Chris Dawson Centre will offer charitable not-for-profit organizations innovative ways to reduce overhead expenses, through sharing services. The money that is saved on these shared services can be applied to services, programs, or hiring of staff that the not-for-profits have been limited to do in the past, thus changing people's lives in Sarnia-Lambton. Some of the shared services include:
- Three meeting rooms, with the latest in multimedia technology
- Staff Room / Kitchen
- Photocopiers / Printers / Scanners
- High-speed Internet
- Digital telephone system (DSL)
- Reception area and Receptionist
- Mailroom
- New 17' front pylon sign
